Hatchet Internet Hunt

Please help me choose fish!?

I own a 75gallon tank with polka dot and zebra loaches, a pair of german rams, a pair of angelfish, a trio of dwarf gourami, a docile RTB shark and some bristlenose plecos. I want to add a nice schooling fish that stay small into my tank and possibly a betta. Lots of people say they have successfully added a betta into their tanks and i would like to try it. I also have a 30 gallon tank with just a breeding pair of angels so i have room to work fish into. I have experience with fish and just want to know what types of fish people have experience good schooling and beauty (danios, tetras, hatchets…) Im trying to find research on the internet as i always do for fish but not much is coming out on the 3 i listed in the brackets. The fish must be able to survive and not be hunted by my angels
Thanks

A great site for quick answers about stocking and anything else related to fish is www.aquariacentral.com . A betta would not be a good choice given your current stocking. The hatchets dont keep a very tight school from my experience but would add life to the top of the water column. They are neat fish. Some of the larger tetras would be your best bet. Odviously neons and cardinals are out of the question. black skirts or phantoms might be nice. If you check out aquabid you will find some neat danios. Most of what is available at fish stores around here are not what I would consider stocking- zebras etc. The pearl danios are very neat but very active swimmers. I love the rams by the way. Awesome fish but can be difficult. Good luck with whatever you choose. It sounds like your stocking is pretty well full on the 75 unless you move stuff around. I would look into something that stays toward the top of the water column if you are serious about adding more.
