HEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLPP, In Pain?

Okay, so anyways the other day i was using a knife to make “something” and it slipped and i cut my hand really badly. It didn’t clot even with pressure on it for about 20 minutes. I didn’t want my parents to find out but i realized i needed stitches, so i manned up and used a (what i think was) sterile needle and thread from a sewing kit. I’ve been putting my hand in my pocket when around people and its my non-dominant hand. Was what I did going to make my hand worse?
Yeah thanks for the advice i just went 2 the ER and they basically said the same thing:

Im an idiot
How did you manage to stitch yourself?

But yeah i have a really bad infection and my parents are pissed that i didnt tell them but other than that im good
